Key Features & Benefits
Pre-configured & ready to go
Gateway is fully configured before shipment to connect securely to our cloud platform.
No network engineering or command-line work required – just power it on and it starts talking to our servers.
Global connectivity with included SIM
Includes an international roaming 4G/LTE SIM card for immediate deployment.
Ideal for multi-site, multi-country operations where fixed internet or Wi-Fi is unreliable or unavailable.
Robust LoRaWAN gateway for commercial environments
Built on the MultiTech Conduit AP (MT-CAP) platform, a commercial-grade LoRaWAN® gateway.
Designed for hotels, food service, cold storage, production kitchens and other demanding environments.
Reliable coverage for 10–15 sensors per zone
We typically recommend one gateway per 10–15 sensors per zone.
This isn’t a limitation of the gateway itself (it supports many more devices) – it’s about ensuring strong radio performance in real-world environments with fridges, cold rooms, stainless steel, concrete and multiple floors.
Long-term, low-maintenance infrastructure
Solid-state, fanless design, suitable for 24/7 operation.
Supports remote firmware updates and diagnostics (OTA), reducing site visits.
Flexible mounting – adhesive backing included
Supplied with adhesive backing so you can mount the gateway on a wall near a power point without drilling.
Can also be placed on a shelf, atop a cabinet, or other flat surface – wherever provides the best signal.
What’s Included
Everything required for the gateway to function is in the box:
MT-CAP Multi-Tech LoRaWAN Gateway (LAP-3 model)
Pre-installed global 4G/LTE SIM card

Recommended Deployment & Coverage
Sensors per gateway:
Recommended: 10–15 sensors per gateway per zone (e.g. one back-of-house area, a cluster of walk-in fridges, or a cold room group).
The gateway itself can technically support 100+ active devices, but we size by zone to maintain strong signal and resilience in heavy-construction environments.
Zones and building layout:
For sites with multiple levels, heavy use of stainless steel, copper piping, or thick concrete walls, you may require one gateway per floor or per major zone to guarantee good signal penetration.
Our team can assist with basic RF layout guidance if required.
Mounting best practices:
Install near a power point, ideally
Above fridge door height
Away from being fully enclosed in metal cabinets
Use the adhesive backing to stick the gateway to a wall, column, or cabinet face with minimal intrusion, or simply place it on top of a suitable surface.
Simple Plug-and-Play Experience
When you receive the gateway:
Unbox – antenna, power adapter, and SIM are already included.
Mount – stick it to a wall or place it on a suitable flat surface near a power outlet.
Plug in power – the gateway boots and automatically connects to our servers using the pre-configured global SIM.
Add sensors – sensors in the zone will start reporting over LoRaWAN to the gateway and onwards to our cloud platform.
No extra configuration, no SIM activation steps, and no on-site network engineering – the MT-CAP Multi-Tech Gateway (LAP-3) is delivered as a turn-key connectivity solution for your monitoring system.
